"en mi habana" reflects how rich our cuban music is, so rich that it allows us to fuse it with other genres like flamenco, blues, reggeatón and jazz, without loosing its cuban caracteristics. The lyrics are socially loaded, referring to life, love and the world that surrounds us. This CD is in honour of our ancestors, victims of traffic of black slaves to our island. With them, they brought their cultures, habits, religions and music, forming part of the roots of popular cuban music.
Contrabando's first album "en mi habana" has been achieved thanks to the devotion of the musicians who believe in this project. With exception of one song(#5), all lyrics and music have been written by Andrés Fernández Ordoñez.

"Abriendo Caminos" is the door which everybody wants to open. The continuation of a new musical chapter wherein Contrabando invites you to travel through a world of musical currences without loosing ourselves. Like our ancestors would say: "If you don't know where you come from, you'll never know where to go." The afro-cubanism that characterizes us is the key to our door of the world. "Let me in, if luck takes me. Go on, because it's worthed."
This is the second album of Contrabando and we can be proud. After nine months of hard work, it is a master piece! The CD contains twelve own componed songs, written by a few valuables within the band. The lyrics and music are written by the musical director Andrés Fernández Ordoñez, and a few songs written by Fernando Blanco Moya and Ruben Valle Elloriaga. Nevertheless we can surely confirm that the Contrabando sound remains.
